Descriptions and times for all activities listed in alphabetical order.

Adult Ceramics-  10 am-12 pm.  Meet in Recreation Building, Room C.  There is a class fee of $1.50 plus cost of bisqueware.  Acrylics only, no glazing. (Ages 12 & up)

Adult Mini Golf-  9 am. Quit puttin’ around and join us.  Meet at Sandy Harbor Mini Golf.  No fee.

Fire Truck Ride- 3 pm  All ages welcome!  Meet in front of Rec. Building.  No fee. We reserve the right to cancel.  Be sure to be there by 3:15 pm to participate.

Fishing Derby-  10:30 am.  Bring your pole and we supply the bait. Meet at fishing dock behind the Recreation Building.  No Fee.

Guitar Hero Tournaments - How good of a guitarist are you?  Only 24 spots available per day for our
Guitar Hero Tournament.  Sign up list fills fast so sign up the morning of in the Recreation Office.

Horseshoe Tournament-  9 am.  Our weekly tournament is a ringer.  An Ocean Lakes’ teammate will explain the rules.  Participants expected to play by our rules.  Meet at horseshoe pits.  No fee.

Kamp Starfish- June 1st - August 15th. Open to guests & residents of Ocean Lakes.  Daily session: 9:00 am - 12 Noon. Registration daily: 8:30 am - 9:00 am.  Fees: 5 days - $40 or $10 per day.  Our activities include music, crafts, group games, snack and nature activities. Each child will receive a Kamp Starfish T-shirt.  Brochures available in the Recreation Office.

Kids Ceramics- 12:15 pm – 1 pm & 1:15 pm - 2 pm. Classes are held in the Rec. Building, Meeting Room C.  $5 per piece fee is required.  Sign up in Rec. Office.

Kids Crafts- 2 pm - 2:40 pm.   Recreation Building.  Create a great craft to take home.  Sign up in Rec. Office.  A materials fee is required.

Kids Night Out-  6 pm - 10 pm.  Open to ages 5-11. Join us for pizza, games, and a movie. Space is limited to 30 children so sign up today in the Rec. Office. Cost is $15 per child.

Jr. Mini Golf Tournament- 10:30 am.  Meet at Sandy Harbor Mini-Golf.  No Fee.

Muscle Conditioning Class- 8 am.  Classes held in Rec. Building.  No fee.  

Nerf Baseball-  10:30 am.  Meet in the Rec. Building to play baseball Ocean Lakes Style. No fee.

Ping-Pong Tournament- 10:30 am  In the Rec. Building.  No Fee.

Scavenger Hunt-  10:30 am.  Meet in the Rec. Building, then take a trip around the Sandy Harbor area to find the answers to our questions.  No fee.

SDU Skate Park - Open 10 AM - 6 PM Daily.
Free Skating-  Half pipe and ramps located under Observation Deck.  Helmets and all pads must be worn while skating. You must have a wristband to enter SDU. Anyone under 18 years of age will need to register with parent/guardian in the Recreation Office.

Surf Camp -Three Days
Ocean Lakes has partnered with Billabong Surf Camp.  Surf Campers will get  instruction in safety, surf etiquette, coastal and marine ecology, and surfboard shaping using Billibong’s equipment.  The camp includes three days of surfing instruction and a bag of Billibong loot. No previous experience required.  Must be a strong swimmer.  For ages 10-16.  Limited to 8 participants.  Cost is $75 per person and must be paid prior to class.  Two camps per week, Monday - Wednesday & Wednesday -Friday..  Sign up in the Recreation Office.  Exceptions for age requirements, please inquire in the Recreation Office.

Swim Lessons-  9 am - 10 am. Ages 5-8  Meet at the indoor pool.  Classes are limited to 20 students. Registration begins on Saturday of each week. Cost is $10 per child.  Sign up in Rec. Office. No lessons June 1 -5.

Teen Dance-  Friday, 8:30 pm - 10 pm. Join DJ Kaotic for a dance party in the Rec. Bldg.  We’ll play top 40, hip hop etc. Edited songs.  No fee.

Water Aerobics- 8 am.  Meet in the indoor pool. No fee.

Yogacise Class - 8 am.  Meet in the indoor pool. No fee.

Corn TossTournament- Monday - Saturday, 1 pm - 2 pm. A popular tailgating game. Bring your family and meet next to lake behind Recreation Center. we'll play by our rules. Prizes given. No fee.

Hawaiian Lei Making with Chief Kamu -
Monday, 2 pm.  Chief Kamu will teach you the art making your own lei just as they do in Hawaii and give you some history on the lei as well. Cost is $5 for an authentic lei.

Cardboard Boat Regatta - Monday, 4 pm. Design boats using supplied materials and then we’ll see how well they float!  Meet in the Rec. Building.  No fee.

Sandsculpting Contest - Tuesday, 4 pm is judging. Be creative. Build in front of Observation Deck. Must be present for judging. No fee.

Price is Right Game Show - Mondays, 7 pm. Do you remember how much you paid for the last item you bought?   Meet in the Recreation Building to test your memory.

Bingo - Monday and Wednesday, 8 pm. 20 games of fun family Bingo in the Rec. Building.  Play as many games as you like.  Limit 1 card per person. No fee.

Family Luau -Tuesday, 6 pm. Join us for dinner and a Polynesian Show Chief Kamu and his dancers.  Dinner menu is prepared by Chief Kamu. Adults $15, children 10 & under $8. Tickets  available in the Rec. Office.  Reservations must be made by 12 Noon on Tuesday.  Hawaiian attire is encouraged.

Tye-Dye T-Shirts-  Wednesdays, 4 pm.  Tye-Dye your own Ocean Lakes shirt. Meet inside the Recreation Building.  Please wear old clothing, if the dye gets on your clothes, it may stain.  Cost is $7 per shirt. Must sign up in the Recreation Office by 2 pm on the day of the event.

Name That Tune Game Show - Wednesdays, 7 pm. How many notes will it take your family?   Meet at the Rec. Building.  No fee.

Amazing Race - Thursday, 4 pm. Meet in the Rec. Bldg to play the Ocean Lakes version.  Golf Cars recommended.  No fee.

Country Line Dancing -Thursday, 7 pm -8 pm. Meet in the Rec. Bldg.  Learn line dance steps from our line dance expert.  No fee.

Karaoke - Thursday, 7:30 - 10 pm. Get your vocal pipes ready and meet in the Recreation Building.  No fee.

Family Dance - Friday, 7 pm - 8:30 pm. Enjoy some great tunes and dance the night away in the Rec. Building.  No fee. Teen Dance will follow immediately after.

Dive-In Movie - Saturday, 8:30 pm in the outdoor pool. Bring a float & enjoy the flick!   Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pool open for movie only, no free swimming.  No fee. Movie may be held in Rec. Bldg. due to inclement weather if no other events are scheduled.  No fee.

Family Night at Legends- Every Night.  Two children are free per paying adult.  The adult rate is $33.95.

Dixie Stampede Giveaway - Mondays, 11 am. Dixie Stampede will be at the outdoor pool to giveaway 4 tickets to their show.  Registration forms are located throughout the campground and the drawing box to drop off your form is in the Recreation Office. Must be present to win!

Palace Theater Le Grande Cirque- Adult tickets are reduced and children are free at the Le Grande Cirque on Tuesday nights when you purchase thru Rec. Office.

Dixie Stampede Night- Wednesday Show.  Extra discounts for the 8 pm show when you purchase thru Rec.Office. Deadline to reserve your seats is Tuesday at 3 pm, limited seats may sell out prior to deadline.

Medieval Times- Enjoy an extra discount for the 6 pm show on Friday nights 6/12-7/21 when purchasing thru Rec. Office.

Have Extra Food?
Suggested by a guest, we have now implemented a “Food Shopping Cart”.  If you have any non-perishable items that you would like to leave with us, there is a cart located in the Recreation Building to leave your food.  All food will be donated to Horry County homeless shelters.

Sunday, 9 am.
Join us for our Non-denominational Worship Service in the Rec. Building. Children’s church and Sunday school are available during the Worship Service.

Gospel Music Concerts
Sunday, 8 pm.
Enjoy an inspirational evening of gospel music in the Recreation Building. Check in the Recreation Office for a schedule of upcoming concerts. No Fee.

11th Annual Premier Bluegrass Weekend
Friday & Saturday, August 28 & 29, 2009
Hear some of the top Bluegrass Bands featuring Rhonda Vincent & The Rage & The Grascals, IIIrd Tyme Out, Blue Highway, The Bluegrass Strangers, The James King Band and The Harvest Wind Band! Wristbands are $40 per adult for both days of show plus site fee, children 6-12 are $20, under 6- free.

Field of Dreams Camp
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Learn baseball tips from the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a minor league baseball team, Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Breakfast will be served and then we’re off to have a full morning of baseball camp, lunch and followed later on by a tailgate party and a baseball game to see the Pelicans live. Adults and children welcome. Cost of camp is $75 per person plus site fee which includes a shirt & hat. Tailgate and game tickets are $25 each adult and $20 for each child.
