Ocean Lakes Family Campground has something going on everyday! We leave the calendars up all year long so you can see what kind of activities we offer when you are planning on visiting. Generally, the monthly calendars are updated a few weeks prior to the upcoming month. The activities are generated through the Recreation Department.

Gospel Concert
Come to the recreation building for a free Gospel music concert. Group to be announced.

Bluegrass on the Waccamaw
Saturday, May 8th, 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm in Conway
Bring your own chairs and head to Conway.Located 14 miles from here in downtown historic Conway on the River. Concert is free and open to the public. No cost to attend. No coolers or pets allowed. Food vendors available at the concert.

International Professional Rodeo Association
See a professional rodeo live. Calf roping, cowgirl barrel riding, bull riding, etc. Well worth the drive to Hemingway. Adults $12 and children under 10 free. Flyers with a map are available.

Family Night at Dixie Stampede
Enjoy Dixie Stampede at a discounted rate on Wednesday nights.  Ocean Lakes offers a special Family Night rate on Wednesday nights.  Seats are limited so reserve your spot at the Recreation Office no later than Tuesday at 3 pm.

Family Night at Legends
Purchase your tickets in the Recreation Office for any night at Legends and receive two free children’s (16 & under) tickets for each adult ticket purchased.

Family Night at the Palace Theatre
Ocean Lakes guests receive a special discounted rate on Tuesday nights for the Le Grande Cirque. Inquire at the Recreation Office for more details.

Fish Fry-day and Bingo
Fridays at 6 pm.  Enjoy flounder, cole slaw, French fries, and a drink, along with bingo.  $5.50 per person.  Meet at Sandy's Meet-n-Eat. Special rate is only offered at this time.

Mother’s Day Mini Golf
Bring mom to Sandy Harbor for her free round of mini golf.  The remainder of the group does have to pay to play.

Kids Night Out
Space is limited so sign your child up today - deadline to sign up is 2pm on the day of the event. $15 per child. Ages 4 - 11. 5pm - 8pm. Includes games, crafts, physical activities, and a pizza dinner!

Teen Ping Pong Tournament
Ages 8-16.  Meet in the Recreation Building to compete.  Prizes to winners.  No fee.

Jr./Teen Mini Golf Tournament
Ages 16 and under.  Meet at Sandy Harbor Mini Golf to compete.  Prizes to winners.  No fee.

Guitar Hero Tournament
Join us in the recreation building for the Guitar Hero tournament on the Nintendo Wii! Space is limited - the sign up sheet is available at 9am on the morning of the tournament. Prizes to winners! No fee.

Kids Crafts
Inquire at the recreation office for crafts and prices. Sign your child up in the recreation office on the morning of the event. Ages 4 - 11. Craft fee to be paid at time of class.

Adult Horseshoe Tournament
Meet at the horseshoe pits to compete.  Prizes to winners.  No fee.

Family Scavenger Hunt
Meet us in the Recreation Building to pick up your list of questions.  The answers can be found within the campground.  There will also be some items that you will need to find and bring back with you.  Golf carts, bicycles, or cars are recommended, but not mandatory.  Prizes to winners!  No fee.

Daily/Weekly Activities for May 2009

Water Aerobics
Join our qualified instructor at the indoor pool for a class of aerobic conditioning, toning, exercises, and movement. All levels are welcome. No fee. 

Muscle Conditioning
Start the day off in a healthy way. Low impact aerobic classes are held in the Recreation Building. No fee. 

Coffee and News
Mondays – Fridays, 9 AM. Start the morning with a cup of coffee and the daily news.  Newspapers are available for reading in the Recreation Building.  No fee.

Family Ceramics
In the Recreation Building, room C.  Class fee is $1.50 plus the cost of bisqueware.  

Bingo
Mondays & Wednesdays at 7 PM is Bingo night at Ocean Lakes. We will play 10 games, limit 1 card per person. Games are free of charge.

Adult Mini Golf
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 am
Meet at the mini golf course for our tournament.  Prizes to winners.

Name That Tune
Join us in the recreation building to test your knowledge of tunes from television sitcoms, movies, etc. Prizes to winners! No fee.

Yogacise
Join our experienced yoga instructor in the Recreation Building. All levels are welcome. No fee.

Worship Service
Our nondenominational church service is held in the Recreation Building.

2009 Beach Pet Laws
Shown below are the current pet ordinaces for Horry County and the Town of Surfside Pet Ordinaces. Please be advised you can be fined up to $500 per pet for violation of these ordinances.

Horry County Beaches
Animals on beaches. Any animal on the beach must be on a hand-held leash not to exceed six (6) feet in length and under the control of the person having custody of the animal. Persons in
control of the animal are responsible for the clean up of any animal refuse. Animals are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., from May 15 to September 15. No reptile or similar type animal are allowed on the beach or beach access at any time. (Ord. No. 104-07, § 1, 6-19-07)

Town of Surfside Beaches
Animals on beaches. No animals on the beach anytime May 15 to September 15. Surfside Beach town limits start at the Holiday Inn on the south end of Ocean Lakes.
